KNOW ME |
| I am known as the 'green cooking banana' and am a staple in many tropical countries where I am used as we would potatoes, kumara, rice or pasta. |
USE ME |
| I am extremely versatile because as I ripen, I change colour from green to yellow and eventually to black, getting sweeter at each stage - great in dessert recipes too!
When I am green, I am firm and starchy and great boiled, mashed, fried as chips or fried thinly like crisps.
Yellow plantains can be enjoyed sweet or savoury |
